Zhejiang Zhongde Automatic Control Technology Co., Ltd. secured a patent for "A Forced-Sealed Ball Valve." By installing a single-piston valve seat and a double-piston valve seat upstream and downstream of the valve ball, respectively, this design achieves self-discharge and shut-off functions of the ball valve. Additionally, the stuffing box is set to support the valve ball, reducing the force on the valve stem and addressing the issue of valve stem bending due to pressure over long-term use, which affects the sealing performance at the valve stem. Tongyi Valve Group Co., Ltd. obtained a patent for "A Dual-Control Ball Valve." Through a unique fixed mechanism design, this valve effectively prevents accidental opening or closing of the ball valve, enhancing its stability and safety during operation.
In the civilian sector, ball valves also have extensive applications. In household water supply and drainage systems, ball valves are used to control the on-off of tap water, facilitating daily use and maintenance for residents. In heating systems, ball valves can regulate the flow rate of hot water to achieve indoor temperature control. Furthermore, in gas pipeline systems, ball valves are crucial components for ensuring the safe transportation of gas. Their excellent sealing performance and rapid response capability enable them to swiftly cut off the gas supply in emergencies, preventing accidents.
On November 18th, the world's first 500-megawatt pelton hydroelectric generating unit ball valve steel casting made in China was officially delivered in Deyang, Sichuan Province. This ball valve steel casting will be applied to the 500-megawatt pelton hydroelectric generating unit at the Zala Hydropower Station. As a core component of the pelton hydroelectric generating unit, it boasts the largest size and heaviest weight among similar ball valves. This achievement not only demonstrates China's superb technological level in ball valve manufacturing but also provides strong support for the development of the country's hydropower industry.
